  • How effective are electric remote dog training collars? How effective are these electric remote dog training collars. Also I’m finding that there is a very large price difference between the UK available products and the products available direct from Chine. Where would be the best place to purchase it from. I have an 8 month old very lovable but naughty Weimaraner. “Casper”. The kids and I have sought of given him to much of a good thing and now he is getting out of hand Eg when asked to get off the sofa, he likes to show his pearly white teeth.
  • Can I use a dog training collar remote for two dogs? I had purchased a dog training collar and remote last year and lost the remote and we had just recently welcomed another dog into our family which has a barking issue. So i had purchased another collar and remote (same collar and remote i purchased last year) and i was curious if anyone knew if I could use this on two separate collars? If so how? If not would someone like to buy a training collar with no remote?:-) No just kidding. I would like to know if I could possibly have the remote or collar programmed if I cannot use it on two collars. I will provide the link that shows the remote and collar. http://www.amazon.com/Remote-Dog-Training-Shock-Collar/dp/B003YLETZY/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1363994951&sr=1-1 Thanks greek. I agree with you, TRAINING collars are tools used for the sole purpose of elevating the training standards when you have a pet that shows no signs of learning from the training techniques given to them to begin with. I have trained several hunting dogs with these collars and have had no negative impacts from the dogs. If anything the dogs show better signs of accepting commands after using the TRAINING collar. These collars also have a vibrate mode that works just as well. AND CLOCK before you tune in to a conversation on anything I think you need to know what you were talking about. I asked a simple ? and did not need the smart a** comment from an "animal rights activist" , so see yourself out of this question. thank you. Thanks greek. • Whats the best dog training collar for my neapolitan mastiff? I am looking to get a training collar for my 7 month old Neapolitan Mastiff who has been attacking my other two dogs only in the house. I have been informed by a few breeders to get a collar to train him but there is thousands of them so need some advice on which one to pick, Hopefully under $300 dollars.
  • Is the sport dog brand field trainer SD-425 training collar a user friendly dog training collar? We have a fox terrier boarder collie mix approx. 25 pounds and are trying to train him for dove and duck hunting. Currently, we are using a training collar for small dogs, but he doesn't seem to respond well to it as the attention tone is very quiet. We have researched the SD-425 and would like to know if anyone has experience with this collar or something similar. The total budget for the collar is $200. There are lots of them out there and we would like some input from other users.
  • Are dog training (shock) collars safe and do they work? I am considering using a training collar to teach my dog boundaries. I need to be able to keep her off leash, but she runs off if I let her off the leash. A fence, even an invisible fence, is out of the question as its not my house. I've tried teaching her boundaries for the last 5 months but it is not working well. She won't respond to "come" unless she's in the mood. I want to use a shock collar but I worry it may be inhumane. Are they effective and are they safe to use?
  • What's a good remote control dog shock collar? I've been looking to get my dog a shock collar that I can control because I would like to be able to walk with him without a leash because it always gets tangled around stuff where I walk with him. I'm not a 100% sure about his weight but I know its 60>110. The collar I have been considering is the TaoTronics TT-PT10 and I really don't know how strong the collar should be to stop him when he tries to run off from me. Please leave suggestions and tips for getting a good shock collar. Here is a link for the TaoTronics TT-PT10 - http://www.amazon.com/TaoTronics-Weatherproof-Training-Correction-Vibration/dp/B008OR3X1O/ref=sr_1_24?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1361424896&sr=1-24&keywords=Remote+Control+Dog+Training+Shock+Collar He has short hair and is an English Pointer. @ Michael I take my dog for walks off the trails and occasionally down by a river or a stream because he likes to play in the water it would be strange if I did run into somebody but I would always have a leash just in case it's needed to pass somebody. Thanks for the reply :) @ Frankie I wouldn't ever use anything other than a traditional leash. My dog and I walk just fine with a leash but I'd prefer not to need one when we go on hikes off the trails or when I take him to the river to play. I just want him to not run off from me when I take the leash off him because I do not live in a city and am surrounded by forest and it is very very hard to find him when he gets loose. @ Clockwork Okay, Please explain how I correct a dog who has ran a 20 feet ahead of me and still moving farther, chasing him makes him run more, he doesn't understand "come here" yet so that isn't an option. Please tell I'm all ears for a helpful tip other than calling me lazy. @ Clockwork I also want to know how he is supposed to enjoy himself int he river and playing fetch with a 5 ft leash on him. Sounds like a horrible time. People need to realize I came here looking for a good shock collar and not shitty opinions and why I shouldn't get one. I was going to get one whether you like it or not.
  • How do you ease use of a training collar but still keep the dog quiet? My in-laws have a loud dog problem and want to use a training collar, but my concern is that the dog will know not to bark only when it has the collar on, and it would be pretty ridiculous to keep the collar on forever. Is there a way to do it so that eventually they won't have to use the collar at all?
  • what type of training collar should I get? When I was at dog training today, i used her regular collar, and she slipped out of it a few times. The trainer recommended a brand of training collar starting with a M, and i cant seem to remember the name. It was a flat training collar that has a chain it connects to in the back, that connects to your leash. Anyone know what brand this is or what type of collar i should get?
  • How to quickly train my dog to listen to me? Not something that will take months, if I don't get him under control my whitetrash neighbors will call the police or something. I've been told things about this Don Sullivan guy and his dog training DVD/command collar. Anyone know of this? It's supposed to work faster than most methods but I'm not sure what it is. I don't want to hurt my dog, just want him to listen.
