How much food should I give my 6 week old puppie a day?

She is a mini schnoodle. thanks i know i shouldn't have it yet people. The mom didn't want to nurse them and was being neglagent. Thats why we have it. So does anyone know a ballpark ammount?

Details:

  • i think u should give it just breakfast and dinner...that is wat i give my dog because she was getting fat wen i fed her breakfast, lunch, and dinner! and now she is thinnner and she can run more... :)
  • 3-4 meals a day. You shouldn't have a 6 week old puppy. Bring it back to the mom and take it when it is 8 weeks old. Without his mom during this time, your puppy will grow up with severe behavioral issues, you shouldn't have him right now.
  • puppies need 3 meals a day other wise they wont grow right
  • your schanuzer mix should eat as much as it wants all day,, REMEMBER!! IT IS STILL WITH MOM AND LITTERMATES FOR A FEW MORE WEEKS,,, right??
  • I feed mine 4 times a day.
  • Give her the whole bag that's wut i did with my dog.
  • 4 times a day, and as much as the puppy will eat at the time.
  • read the food container ... can or bag... they tell you how much to feed and it goes according to the dog's current weight. I see you have a designer mutt. Large breed dogs often need 3 meals a day due to major growth. So, when you take your pup for it's shots, ask the vet how much to feed and if a 3rd meal at noon might be a good idea during growth stage. Remember your pup should have had shots starting at 4 weeks, and continue every 4 weeks till age 16 weeks for the initial puppy series of shots. Then there's the Kennel cough and rabies immunizations, heart worm testing and preventive treatment, etc. etc. So you will be seeing the vet a bunch for a while and you should write down all your questions to ask your vet during those visits. Finally, and very important, talk to the vet about nutrients, vitamins and minerals your pup will need. The pup was TOO YOUNG to separate from it's mama and that's bad for the pup. They learn very important things in those last two weeks from their mamas. The pup should never have been separated from mama before 8 weeks of age.
  • feed her 3 times a day. as much as she can eat for 10 minutes.
  • Puppies need to eat more than adult dogs, as they're still growing, so 3 times a day. Talk to your vet if you're not sure exactly how much she should be eating. Also, make sure you're feeding him puppy food because normal dog food doesn't have nutrients that puppies need. Have fun with your puppy ^_^
